Sulfuric Acid Injection
Verdegaal Brothers, Inc. will install a sulfuric acid injection systems that will continuously inject 93% sulfuric acid into your irrigation system. Continuous injection of sulfuric acid is the most economical way to lower the pH of irrigation water. A neutral to slightly acidic pH will lead to increased nutrient availability and improve water penetration.
Sulfuric Acid Soil Application
High pH soil can be lowered with a sulfuic acid soil application. Unlike elemental sulfur, sulfuric acid has an immediate effect on the soil pH. Acid applications can be made before a permanent crop is planted, or after it is established. Application rates will vary based on soil conditions.
Variable Rate Acid Injection Systems
Verdegaal Brothers, Inc. also offers a variable rate sulfuric acid injection system. This simple to use system allows growers to select their desired pH and the variable rate controller will manipulate the rate of injection to maintain whichever pH is selected.
Urea-Sulfuric Fertilizer
Patented in 1982 by Bill and George Verdegaal, urea-sulfuric acid fertilizers were originally developed in Hanford, CA by Verdegaal Brothers, Inc. The urea-sulfuric blends are commonly manufactured in three standard formulations that are distinguished by the percentage of nitrogen followed by the percentage of sulfuric acid. Those three formulations are: 10/55, 15/49 and 28/27; however, other custom blends are available. All urea-sulfuric fertilizer blends can be purchased through fertilizer dealers in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona.
